The Netherlands is the country of tulips. It is incredibly beautiful during spring especially in the end of March till the beginning of May. The colors of tulip and flower fields add a special charm to the country. Red, yellow and pink colors are overwhelming and extremely beautiful. It is the experience you shouldn't miss.
The best time for visiting Holland is the second half of April when the flowers are in bloom. Crocus flowers are the first to start blooming in the end of March then come daffodils and hyacinths. And the last ones are tulips. They are real delight to the eye since mid-April till the second week of May.
There are a lot of bulb fields scattered throughout the country showing their beauty. One of the most well-known fields is between Den Helder and Leiden. Others are in the province of Flevoland and near Enkhuizen.
The fact that everyone knows about Holland is that the Dutch love bikes. There are more bicycles than people in this country. The drivers are very careful and the cyclists have their own routs so cycling here is safe. Renting a bike in Holland is a must. It is the most comfortable way of transportation in the country. What is more interesting is to rent a bike and cycle through tulip fields. There are also special routes there. You may enjoy the color and fragrance pretty close. You may cycle from Leiden to Haarlem to visit one of the biggest and internationally famous flower parks - Keukenhof in Lisse.
Visiting Keukenhof is a lifetime experience. It is incredible beautiful huge flower park. The atmosphere here is charming. People from all over the world come to Holland during this time to enjoy the beauty of Keukenhof. Each year it chooses a special theme and everything in the park suites this style. It occupies the territory of 32 hectares and there are more than 2 700 trees on its territory. There are pavilions exhibiting unique and unusual flower.
Keukenhof doesn't operate the year round. It is open only during since the middle of March until the middle of May. Opened only eight weeks in a year the park is visited by a huge number of people and is considered one of the biggest and the most visited flower parks. As soon as you arrive to Holland when the flowers are in bloom you will understand how beautiful the country really is.
